Refund Policy

1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains when payments to Brainpercent are refundable. It covers both recurring subscriptions and one-time Credit Pack purchases, and it forms part of our Terms and Conditions. If this policy and the Terms ever conflict, the Terms control.

We do not charge any processing fee on refunds. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method.

2. Subscription Refunds

Subscriptions renew automatically and, as a general rule, subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as stated below (see Section 4 of the Terms).

  • Cancellation: you can cancel anytime in Settings, then Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and you keep access until then. We do not issue partial-period refunds for the remainder of a billing period, except in the cases listed below.
  • First subscription, 14 days: if this is your first subscription with Brainpercent and you request a refund within 14 days of the first charge, we refund it in full, provided you have used no more than 10% of your monthly credit allowance. Annual plans follow the same 14-day rule from the initial charge.
  • Duplicate or erroneous charges: charges made in error, including duplicate charges, are always refunded in full.
  • Extended outage: if a verified Service outage prevents you from generating any output for more than 72 consecutive hours during a billing period, you may choose a pro-rata credit or a pro-rata refund for the affected days.
  • Termination by us: if we terminate your account for convenience (with 30 days notice, per Section 12 of the Terms), you receive a pro-rata refund for any unused prepaid period.

Refunds are not available for accounts suspended or terminated for a material breach of the Terms.

3. Credit Pack Refunds

Credit Packs are one-time purchases that add credits on top of your plan allowance (see Section 6 of the Terms).

  • 14-day window: a Credit Pack is refundable in full within 14 days of purchase if fewer than 10% of the purchased credits have been consumed.
  • Partially used packs: after the 14-day window, or once 10% or more of the purchased credits have been consumed, Credit Packs are non-refundable except where statutory consumer rights apply.
  • Expiry: purchased credits expire 12 months from the date of purchase if unused. Expired credits are not refundable.
  • No cash value: credits cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts, or combined with credits from other accounts.

4. Statutory Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. Because Brainpercent supplies digital content and digital services that begin immediately, at checkout you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right for content already delivered once generation begins. The contractual refund rights above (14 days for first subscriptions and lightly used Credit Packs) meet or exceed this baseline in most cases.

Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence, including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and EU Directive 2011/83/EU. Those rights always prevail over this policy.

5. Free Trial and Bonus Credits

The free trial (3 articles and 10 social posts, or 6 articles and 20 social posts via Product Hunt referral) is free of charge, so there is nothing to refund. Trial and bonus credits carry no cash value.

If a purchase that generated an affiliate commission is refunded, the corresponding commission is clawed back under our Affiliate Terms.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email edward@brainpercent.com from the email address associated with your Brainpercent account and include:

  • The transaction ID or Stripe receipt number (found in your Stripe email receipt or in Settings, then Billing)
  • The date and amount of the charge
  • A short description of the reason for the request

We aim to respond to every refund request within 5 business days. Approved refunds are typically issued to the original payment method via Stripe within 10 business days of approval. There is no processing fee. Depending on your bank, the refund may take a few additional days to appear on your statement.

7. Governing Law

This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and follows the dispute resolution process in Section 16 of our Terms and Conditions, including the consumer carve-outs for the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Germany, France, Australia, and California.
