1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let the site remember your session, your preferences, and how you arrived here. This policy also covers similar technologies such as localStorage where we use them for the same purposes.
Brainpercent, LLC uses three categories of cookies. Essential cookies keep the Service secure and keep you signed in; they require no consent. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site and load only with your consent. Attribution cookies record which campaign, affiliate, or referral source brought you here; depending on your region they rely on our legitimate interest or on your consent.
2. Cookies We Set
The table below lists the cookies Brainpercent actually sets. It is kept short on purpose: this is the complete list, not a sample.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Supabase authentication token. Keeps you signed in to your account. | Session (while signed in) | Essential |
bp_anon_id | Anonymous analytics identifier. Linked to your account when you sign up. | 365 days | Analytics |
bp_utm | First-touch attribution: remembers the campaign or source that first brought you to the site. | 30 days | Attribution |
bp_aff_click | Affiliate referral attribution. Cryptographically signed (HMAC) so it cannot be forged. | 60 days | Attribution |
ref_source | Referral source, for example Product Hunt. | 7 days | Attribution |
_ga / _ga_* | Google Analytics 4: aggregated traffic measurement. | 24 months | Analytics |
_clck / _clsk | Microsoft Clarity: session replay and heatmaps. | 12 months | Analytics |
We also use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights in production. Both run in cookieless mode: they measure visits and page performance without setting any cookie.
3. Consent and Your Choices
Analytics tools never load silently. Google Analytics 4 starts with Google Consent Mode defaults set to denied for both analytics_storage and ad_storage, and switches to granted only after you accept analytics cookies. Microsoft Clarity does not load at all until you give consent through the cookie banner.
You can change or withdraw your choices at any time: click the "Cookie preferences" button in the site footer to reopen the banner. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection; it does not delete data already collected, which you can request separately under our Privacy Policy.
4. Browser Controls
Your browser gives you direct control as well. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge each have a cookies section under their privacy settings. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and breaks core parts of the Service.
5. Third-Party Policies
Google and Microsoft process the analytics data described above under their own privacy policies:
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add, remove, or change cookies. The version number and effective date at the top of this page change with every revision. For material changes we will inform you through the cookie banner or by email.
